Sara did a live poetry performance before an outdoor audience of 60 as part of the fourth annual “Soul Reset for Women.” The event took place at Rancho de Vida, near Johnson City, Texas. This time, the poems were “Shampoo,” “Text Message,” “Listening,” and “The Doors.” They are all included in her book of poetry, Feeling My Way Along.
In September 2024, Sara performed at a Testify storytelling event in Austin before a live audience. She had the audience laughing at her story of how she attended a burlesque show — at age six— featuring Hollywood’s Sally Rand and her legendary ostrich-feather fan dance and “bubble dance” acts.
Sara was one of six storytellers at “Stories on the Lawn,” an event that takes place quarterly at the Neil-Cochran House in Austin, Texas. Sara recounted how a quiet life of regular routines and rituals was flipped upside down in an instant with the radio announcement that Pearl Harbor had been bombed by the Japanese.
