Ann Patchett

Author Ann Patchett received the 2002 PEN/Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize for Fiction in the same year, for her novel Bel Canto. Patchett’s other novels include The Patron Saint of Liars, Taft, The Magician’s Assistant, Run, State of Wonder, Commonwealth, The Dutch House, and Tom Lake.

Appelt has won many awards, including the 2005 Teddy Award from the Writers’ League of Texas. That book is Miss Lady Bird’s Wildflowers, which is a book that shows how the former first lady used her love of wildflowers to make America more beautiful.
